Quality Engineering Intern

Artemax, Inc. is currently looking for a Quality Engineering Intern, the position will work closely with our Engineering and Production Mgmt team; assist with evaluating and recommending improvement of the manufacturing process and the equipment used in it to improve overall product quality. Our internship program is designed to provide you with a real-work experience and challenging objectives that are consistent with your career goals and current level of education.

PAID INTERNSHIP

Length of Internship

  • 1 year (full-time during summer & breaks, part-time during school)
  • Full-time hours: (M-F, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
  • Part-time hours: flexible, minimum of 15 hrs/week

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement process flow improvements; including equipment updates and automation of tasks to improve product quality
  • Identify quality improvements methods by participating in the resolution of daily production and technical issues
  • Review all quality processes and make improvement recommendations with a goal of improving overall product quality
  • Establish or enhance standard quality control procedures for all essential processes, equipment and operation
  • Assist in company-wide quality improvement initiative
  • Support Kaizen World Class Manufacturing initiative (Complete projects as assigned)
  • Operate in accordance with corporate, OHSA, and safety policies and practices and in compliance with accepted business ethnics

Physical Abilities

  • Able to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arms-length, stoop, kneel and crouch
  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Able to see with colored vision and close vision

Requirements

  • Junior or Senior pursing a Bachelor's in Mechanical, Industrial, Process/Quality Engineering or equivalent engineering program
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of Quality, Continuous Improvement and/or Lean concepts
  • Basic knowledge of statistical concepts for data analysis
